Vaidyanath Temple Mythology & Legend
Ravana, the demon king, performed severe penance and offered his ten heads to Lord Shiva. Pleased with his devotion, Shiva healed him and gave him invincibility. Thus, the place came to be known as Vaidyanath (Lord of Physicians).
